Predators Recall Cody Franson

As the Preds prepare to hit the road for two weeks they recalled Defenseman Cody Franson to add a little beef to the blue line.

PREDATORS RECALL DEFENSEMAN CODY FRANSON FROM MILWAUKEE

Nashville, Tenn. (October 16, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Cody Franson from Milwaukee (AHL).



Franson, 22 (8/8/87), has two points (1g-1a) in three games with the Admirals in 2009-10. A season ago, he was named a 2008-09 Second-Team AHL All-Star after ranking third among AHL defensemen in points (52), sixth among league blueliners in assists (41) and tied for seventh in goals (11). Drafted 79th overall (third round) in the 2005 Entry Draft, the Salmon Arm, B.C., native has yet to appear in an NHL contest.



The Predators hit the road for the next two weeks, playing five straight away from the Sommet Center starting tomorrow night at Washington (no local television, 97.1 RQQ, 6 p.m. CT). The club returns to home on Oct. 29 when they host last night’s opponent, the Chicago Blackhawks (7 p.m. CT).
