Sunday Morning Look at Saturday Night

As I look back from Sunday morning, last night's 3-2 shootout win over the Stars is even more impressive in the rear view mirror. The Predators never slowed down in spite of the injury to J.P. Dumont and two goals on mishandled pucks by Dan Ellis. Here is our complete recap from last night.

David Legwand getting a shoot out goal to force extra shooters may have been the most surprising event of the evening, even more than Mike Santorelli's going five-hole on Marty Turco to seal the win or Dan Ellis' strong showing in the shoot-out..

As I have always heard, things are never as good as they seem after a win or as bad as they seem after a loss. There are still 81 games left (and hopefully a bunch more in the playoffs) so let's enjoy this win and then move on to Thursday and fill the Sommet Center when the Predators play the Avalanche in the home opener.

In Pred Nation...

Here is a video from Youtube of the hit that took J. P. out of the game. Early word from John Glennon is that J.P.'s injury is not as bad as it may seem.

John Glennon has a great line from Dan Ellis on his horrible pass that led to the second goal. I'm glad Ellis could laugh about it after the fact. His regular game post is here.

Taking a look around the horn, here is what the Pred blog community had to say about the game; Forechecker, Section303, Rachel at What the Puck (with a new format), Brandon Felder, Paul McCann, and Big Kev.

From the Stars point of view there are updates from Defending Big D and the Dallas Morning News.

Here is an audio clip from Tom Callahan with Sully from the pre-game that never made it on the radio broadcast.

The Milwaukee Admirals came away with a big road win, also winning 3-2 in Chicago. Admiral's Short Shifts has complete coverage of the win. Ryan Miller will join us on POTG Radio Monday night to give us more of an idea what to expect out of the Ads this season.

Thanks for the inclusion in your post, even if the link actually re-directs to Mr. Felder's blog on hockeybuzz.com. Looking forward to Thursday! The Av's win streak comes to an end. - Big Kev

great write-up, great site.

too bad about Ellis' give away, but the Preds did look solid throughout.

could be their season, but as I always say, you can't do tooo well w/ $16M in avail cap space.
