Joel Ward Chosen as Predators Nominee for the Masterton Trophy

Joel Ward is the Nashville Predator's nominee for the Bill Masterton Trophy that will be handed out at the NHL Awards show on June 23rd at the Palms' Pearl Theater in Las Vegas.

John Glennon and Jim Diamond, who were both voters for the award, have their stories that were released this morning at 8 a.m.

Joel Ward is the perfect choice to represent the Predators as he truly represents the spirit of the award which is "given to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey."

The local members of the PHWA are to be commended for their selection. Ward joins the nominees from the 29 other teams in a pool that will be narrowed to three prior to the Awards Show.

The Predator's Steve Sullivan won the award last season.
