Details Released for NHL Tweet Up for Nashville Flood Relief

Mark Willoughby of The View from 111, who is scheduled to be one of our guests on POTG Radio tonight, has released more details on the NHL Tweet Up for flood relief in an email to the Predator blog community this morning.

The event will take place at The Tin Roof at 1516 Demonbreun Street in Nashville on Monday, June 7 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The TwTvite link to sign up to attend is here.

Here is the information from Mark in its entirety...

We have received items from the L.A. Kings, and are awaiting items from the Rangers, Islanders, Canucks, and a few others. Dani Muccio (dani3boyz) has been great about contacting the other teams for items for the tweetup. We have also got in hand a Washington Capitals baseball cap signed by Alex Ovechkin, a Carolina Hurricanes jersey signed by Rod Brind’Amour, and a few non- hockey items. The Preds will also be contributing a good bit of stuff to the cause.

The plan is to donate 100% of the proceeds to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Flood Relief program.

Additionally, the Tin Roof has not only generously provided the venue, but will be making a cash donation to the effort as well.

The non-Predators auction items will be inserted on e-bay in their e-giving section. CFMT has a site established there. The web site is www.ebaygivingworks.com Once there, you search under the non-profit tab using Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. As I receive items, I will make the photos and descriptions and insert them on the site. The on-line auction will close at 6:00 p.m. the day of the Tweetup. The Predators gear and other items of interest to local participants will be at the venue for a silent auction. Also, we will be doing a 50/50 raffle at the event. Purchase a ticket for a chance to win half of the proceeds, with the other half being contributed to the flood relief effort.

Paul Nicholson has been very helpful in getting me in touch with Sarah Peters, who has graciously volunteered her time to create a website to publicize the event and also a donation option. Once the site is up, I will communicate it to all of you.

Rebecca Ward at the Predators has been magnificent in her support. Thank her the next time you talk to her.

I am having dinner with Pete and Terry tonight, and I am pretty certain that we can get Pete to drop by. Terry may be going back to Canada for the summer, but if he is here, he will show up. I will be getting in touch with Paul McCann and Tom Callahan to let them know about this.

Jeremy, you have a good working relationship with Christine Maddela. Give her an invite and see if she will give us some publicity.

If you have thoughts or suggestions, please share them. We want this Tweetup to not only be a fun event, but an effective one to raise some money.

VERY IMPORTANT: http://twtvite.com/nashfloodnhltweetup is the site that NHL tweetup’s has up and running for our event. Encourage folks to go to the site and confirm their attendance. This helps me coordinate with the Tin Roof and it is good for Dani and the NHL’s social media effort.

Thanks to all of you for your help.

Mark Willoughby

Hat's off to Mark for all the work he has put into this event to help those in need from the recent flood.
