Dekanich Assigned to Milwaukee, Lindback Remains in Nashville

After not getting in to last nights game in Atlanta, it comes as little surprise that goalie Mark Dekanich has been reassigned to the Nashville Predators AHL affiliate in Milwaukee.

The Predators now have two goalies remaining in camp. Pekka Rinne will be the opening night starter and Anders Lindback is the backup pending any further moves by the team.

_Roster at 26 entering final preseason game on Sunday at Washington-


Nashville, Tenn. (September 30, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has assigned goalie Mark Dekanich to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. The reduction puts Nashville’s Training Camp roster at 26 players – 16 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders. All NHL teams must set their Opening Day player rosters (23-player maximum) by Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. CT.


Players by position currently participating in camp are as follows:


FORWARDS (16): Jonas Andersson, Wade Belak, J.P. Dumont, Martin Erat, Marcel Goc, Patric Hornqvist, Sergei Kostitsyn, David Legwand, Matthew Lombardi, Jamie Lundmark, Cal O'Reilly, Jerred Smithson, Steve Sullivan, Jordin Tootoo, Joel Ward, Colin Wilson.


DEFENSEMEN (8): Francis Bouillon, Cody Franson, Aaron Johnson, Kevin Klein, Ryan Parent, Alexander Sulzer, Ryan Suter, Shea Weber.


GOALTENDERS (2): Anders Lindback and Pekka Rinne.


The Predators wrap up the preseason on Sunday at the Verizon Center when they take on the Washington Capitals (11 a.m. CT). The regular season in Smashville kicks off on Oct. 9 vs. the Anaheim Ducks.
