In Pred Nation...
Dirk Hoag put together a nice piece on the trade of Ian McKenzie to Atlanta for defenseman Grant Lewis. McKenzie was a nice enough guy that we have talked to a couple of times at development camps, but he did not appear to have a future with the Preds. He actually had a tough time staying in Milwaukee the last two years. Hopefully, Lewis will bring more to the table.
On his first official day on the job as the Tennessean's Preds beat writer, Josh Cooper reports that Cody Franson was at yesterday's informal work out and is hopeful to have a new contract soon. This may or may not be pertinent to the situation from @dchesnokov: KHL season starts in exactly 1 week (from yesterday).

Last night's The Program Podcast had Rory Fitzpatrick (yes, the Vote for Rory guy) as a guest and he was very candid about several items that are being discussed about the upcoming CBA negotiations. One important point was that Donald Fehr will have a difficult time getting the different factions together as a solid front.
Ryan Porth looks at the Carey Price contract dispute. It appears that he may "go on strike" if he is not signed by camp. For someone with the weight of the Montreal fan base on his shoulders, he doesn't need to give them more reason to boo louder.
