Predators Recall Mark Dekanich, Speculation Ensues

The Nashville Predators recalled Mark Dekanich in a surprise move this morning. The rumor-mill stared immediately with speculation about trades, injuries, and everything else under the sun.

The latest word from Brian Mullen is that Anders Lindback is "under the weather" so until we hear otherwise, it is best to let it go at that.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS RECALL GOALTENDER MARK DEKANICH


Nashville, Tenn. (February 18, 2011) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Mark Dekanich (MAHRK DEH-kuh-nihtch) from Milwaukee (AHL).


Dekanich, 24 (5/10/86), will be making his third appearance on the Predators roster this season. He spent a week with the team from Oct. 10-17 and made his NHL debut on Dec. 18 vs. Los Angeles during his second recall, stopping 22-of-25 shots in 50 minutes of action. A 2011 AHL All-Star, Dekanich is ranked fourth in the American League in wins (20), goals-against average (2.04) and save percentage (.929).


Fresh off defeating the Western Conference’s top team, the Predators complete their current four-game home stand tomorrow night at 7 p.m. when they face-off against the Phoenix Coyotes (102.9 The Buzz).
