Kopitar Injury Hurts Kings Chances to Go Deep In Playoffs

The Los Angeles Kings chances for a long playoff run took another severe bolw on Saturday afternoon when their leading scorer, Anze Kopitar fell funny on his ankle and broke it during a relatively routine play.

Kopitar holds the Kings' record for consecutive games played with 330, will be out a minimum of six weeks which would allow a return about the time of the Conference finals. The Kings now appear to be a long shot to make it that deep in the playoffs since they also lost Justin Williams earlier this week for a similar length of time.

Kopitar was leading the Kings with 73 points (25 gols, 48 assists) in 75 games. Williams was the Kings' second leading scorer with 22 goals and 35 assists.
