Key points...

Thanks to the media and fans, especially at the airport.

All-Star break on, fans were phenomenal.

Plenty of recognition by the national media on the North American stage.

Team was a special team. No excuses. Different guys stepped up. Good focus.

Team took on personality of core leadership group of players.

Numerous list of players stepping up during playoffs.

Goals at start of season - some fulfilled in spite of challenges.

Special teams improved in spite of some of the numbers.

Finished with less than 200 goals allowed and third in the NHL (Jennings Trophy Race).

Strong five on five play.

Surprise players - Kostitsyn, Mueller, Halischuk, Geoffrion, Spaling, and Blum.

Losing to Vancouver hurt - expectations were higher.

Ownership has stabilized team and market opening opportunities.

Expectations are going up.
